Sunny Moments

We had a lovely weekend.  Did you?  I swept away the Christmas decor on Friday and have been refreshed by newfound simplicity and clear spaces.

Yesterday it was so warm that we opened windows - in January!!!  A breeze blew through the house while I prewashed and pressed the new cuteness.  The children chattered as they road bikes outside.  My breath slowed.  My thoughts wondered.  And, across the room...

bursts of color basked in the sunshine.  I had to stop my good work to give them the attention they deserve.

a Symphony of Pattern & Color

A delightful symphony of pattern and color awaited my lens.  When I capture these moments I feel my whole heart smile.  I wonder if this is how God feels sometimes when we do something truly good.  Does He take a God-picture and smile?

A Sea Of sunburst squares

I'm sure He smiles.

Oh, maybe you can help me with a bit of a quandary - to order or not to order more colors?  I love how my crocheted sunburst squares are emerging, but I had it "set" in my head that I would use all my favorite colors.  And, so, sooooo, I meant to add a perky orange, plummy purple, shrimp pink and lemon yellow.   Like so:

These would brighten it up a bit with more warm tones.  Now, the obvious limitation is cash. I'm supposed to be saving for a special trip this October.  And while I do need to save a good bit of money, October seems so far away.

What do you think?  Are more colors more Stitched in Color or is the impact not significant?

By the way, I should report on the big decision for our 10th anniversary plans. We are going to...... Atlanta. Yep, that's right, to the city we weren't gong to choose.  We almost landed in Tybee Island/Savannah, but since March is SO not beach weather and we are totally over the historical home tours (we've been to Charleston many a time), we convinced ourselves to try something different.  We've both been to Atlanta, but never for pleasure.  I'm sure there's plenty of fun to be had there!  Feel free to point me in the right direction. So far, I've mapped the fabric stores!
