Fabric Spot Scrap Challenge!
Happy Monday all! Today is a special shout out to my
Canadian readers. Karen of
Fabric Spot and I have put together a scrap challenge just for you!
Do you live in Canada?
If so, it's your turn to grab the spotlight, indulge in some free fabric and get making!
I hope it's beginning to feel like summer up north. If not, this Summer Lovin' scrap bundle might do the trick. It features fat eights of 1 Kona solid in Bahama Blue and 7 happy-go-lucky prints including Yard Sale Summer Stripe, Architextures Crosshatch and Zig Zag in Tangerine. I love the way the bright, breezy colors pop out against cool white. Take a closer look...
See, isn't that fun? Reminds me of watermelon and fruit punch and summer fun!
Now, what would you make with it? The ball's in your court! Seriously, start thinking because it's yours for the taking. Four participants will receive a scrap bundle of all fabrics shown in 9" x 22" pieces entirely free. And then you have to make something with it, to show off to us all!
Let's talk nitty gritty... On Wednesday of this week I'll announce the 4 participants, our scrap challengers. As soon as we have your address info, Canadian-based Fabric Spot will mail out those fabrics, getting them in the mail by Friday. Then, you must make something... anything!!!! using all 8 scrap fabrics, plus one fabric of your own choosing if desired. So, you can add the extra fabric (could be solid or print), but you don't have to. You do have to use all 8 scraps, but you can use a little or a lot of each. Participants can use their own buttons, trims, etc. to embellish if needed.
There's a deadline! Really, it's a good thing, cause that means you'll enjoy this now. You must finish sewing your project and post pictures by Sunday, June 30th. Participants can either share the results on their blog, or if they don't blog, sharing pictures on flickr will do. We want to see what you make because...
You and your project will be featured here! On July 1st, I'll be posting about our challengers, with pictures of your project and hopefully some tidbits about your process. That's the really fun part! Now, all we have to do is figure out which of you 4 are destined for some Summer Lovin?
So, go ahead, convince me. Remember, you must live in Canada to play along this time! I'll hand pick our participants, which means this whole thing involves a whole lot of luck. But getting lucky can be a whole lotta fun!
Are you game?
