Stitched Gifts - ideas + new makes

Twenty days until Christmas.  Let the elving commence at top speed!  I'm about halfway through my gift-making list and quite behind at showing you things.  So, here's a 2-for-1.  Stitched ideas for quick, scrappy holiday gifts and some new finishes too!

ONE.

Scottie Dog a free pattern by Denyse Schmidt; happy patchwork + a wee three-dimensional challenge

I may have gotten a little testy at this stage, turning all those three-dimensional corners.  But, overall, it's a quick make for kids and grown ups who are still kids inside.

TWO.

Make-up Roll from my pattern shop; a pretty, practical gift for the ladies (and teens!)

I can't seem to think whom I haven't made one for...

THREE.

Mini Basket tutorial by Ayumi; sweet little gift for teachers, sewists and little ones

This time I altered the pattern to accommodate 2" finished hourglass blocks.

FOUR.

Patchwork Towel + Potholder set Towel - tutorial by Kristin

Potholders - a Stitched in Color tutorial

When in doubt, a go-to gift for mothers, grandmothers, aunts and young couples.

I still have some on my make list!

FIVE.

Techie Case for phones, tablets, readers, etc.  Alter Christina's tutorial to suit your shape.

This case is made to fit a smartphone.  Ironically, I just got my own smartphone (finally!) so another make is on order for moi!  Maybe after Christmas.

I lined the basket and this case in Botanics Leaves in curry.  Such a versatile print, given how different those two projects are!

SIX.

Notecards a Stitched in Color tutorial;  make a set for someone special.  Adorn blank cards with scrap-filled shapes, tiny patchwork blocks or simple cuts of fabric set off with a stamp.

These are such fun scrap play!  You can even use your pieced scraps!  I hope to make some gift sets this holiday season.

What's on your make list this year?
