Happy Friday! This week I finally feel caught up after the chaos of summer travels. I have been making a ton of progress on my personal 30 Days of Quilt Design challenge. I think that I am really getting the hang of designing with PreQuilt!

Aegean Tiles

day no. 18 in #30DaysofQuiltdesign

No. 18 #30daysofquiltdesign is a simplified version of the first Aegean Tiles. This is much better! There are only two main patterns happening now and some little oddities around the edges. Do you like it or is it still off? Perhaps it would be even better simplified to just the main tile pattern 🤔 I am not usually this tentative, so probably this design is not for me.

These swirly shapes are created with a HST drunkard’s path block. I have never sewn one, but it looks like I should check it out. Designed in PreQuilt using Art Gallery Pure Solids in autumnal shades such as Aurora red, Apple cider, Ruby, Autumnal, and Miami sunset.

day no. 20 in #30DaysofQuiltdesign

I like that this one is constructed out of rectangle blocks made of triangles, but that it yields stars nested in honeycombs. That kind of geometric novelty sparks my curiosity! It could be a fun scrap quilt.

A very summery quilt! I can imagine this as a wall hanging in a girl’s room. It’s modern and clean, but very cheerful. Not sure if I would enjoy sewing it myself as it feels a bit flat. Probably I could be persuaded with the right prints to add some dimension.
