Scrap Bin Geese for do. Good Stitches

Happy Friday, all! I’ve taken a break from sewing rainbows to sew charity blocks for my local do. Good Stitches. It was a nice change of pace.

This month’s lead quilter asked for Scrap Bin Geese, free tutorial by Andy Knowlton of A Bright Corner. While a fairly straightforward block, it is made up of lots of small pieces. As such, it is indeed a scrap bin sort of project. Just my kind!

Music on and hands on fabric! I just love rummaging through my scraps to find the colors I need and cutting everything up into the right-sized ingredients. Yum.

These blocks are made with sew-and-trim corners. That creates some fabric waste, but since we’re dealing with small-sized scraps already I don’t mind. Plus, the sewing is quite efficient. They came together quickly.

This pair of Scrap Bin Geese blocks is ready to fly! Patchwork is such fun.
