You're Invited!
Guess what? Tomorrow is my blogiversary! And you're invited to a week-long Party! There's going to be
pattern + fabric giveaways everyday, but you're going to have to be on the ball to enter. No hoops to jump through, just daily deadlines to enter! So don't miss it, K?
A year ago tomorrow, I started tippity typing away at Stitched in Color. Yes, there are some posts dated before then, but they were imported from my first blog where they never really belonged. So, it's been a year now and, honestly, it feels like it! It's been jam-packed and oh-so-good. Off the top of my head, here are some highlights:
*one of my favorite "early" projects was the Living Color Pillow. It's still my favorite pillow. See, I've always loved rainbows.
*in summertime I started stitching for Christmas. I thoroughly enjoyed making our family's first set of Christmas stockings and then started work on a Spiderweb Christmas Tree Skirt (which eventually became this tutorial).
*the highlight of the summer was our visit to Nashville - a family vacation, but even more my chance to take a workshop with Anna Maria Horner. Did I post four times about one workshop? Um, yes, I did.
* in September I finished the very first quilt made by do. Good Stitches!
*the Fall brought my first quilt-along, {Colorbrick}a beginner's Quilt-Along. It was a TON of work, but so totally worth it. I love seeing new Colorbricks keep popping up at our Flickr group. Hip-hurray!
*my favorite thing that I made all winter was the Teensy Tiny Patchwork Shower Curtain. I enjoy it everyday. There are a few crooked seams that often catch my eye in the morning. And, for some reason they make me smile.
*then I had the hair-brained idea to create Blogger's Pillow Party. Because, you know, running an always-growing charity bee, blogging daily and trying to build a business in this space wasn't enough. But, it's been fun!
*so hear we are now, bottling rainbows and generally having a blast. Right? RIGHT!
I really want to thank all of you who have made Stitched in Color such a fun place to be. You've heard this before because it's true - your comments and feedback and friendship make blogging worthwhile. And your support in stopping by and joining in with my shenanigans allows me to inch closer to my goal to make Stitched in Color a business that might allow me to be a homeschooling, blogging, always-stitching mom in the years to come! Phew.
So, thank-you! And, please do stop by daily next week to put your name in for some prizes hand-picked by me. I think you're gonna love it!
xo, Rachel
