July Blocks for my Penny Sampler Quilt

Hello, July! It’s that time again. I’m putting the finishing touches on the next delivery of paper piecing patterns for the Penny Sampler Pattern Club.

Heart and Clover are two of the blocks for July which you can choose to include, if you like, in the customizable Penny Sampler quilt. As these are 6” blocks, there are lots of possible places to make them at home in your quilt.

It feels like a good time to take a breather, so this July the sampler club assignments are light. The blocks are relatively quick to assemble, even the 12” Tulip Crown. I made four of these Tulip Crown blocks for my Seafarers quilt, so I know from experience that they’re way faster than many of our other large blocks.

If you’ve fallen a little behind with your Penny Sampler, take this opportunity to catch up! Even the “extra” project in July’s issue of our pattern club is super easy.

It’s really rewarding to see how my blocks are filling up the design wall. Sampler quilts are so interesting to sew, kind of like a choose-your-own-adventure book. It’s hard to see at the beginning where it is all headed, but with a little luck, by the end of the journey, the cumulative effect is quite exciting!
