Scrap Attack Quilt-Along & Festival of Scrappiness
I really don't have enough to do today, so I'm planning another event. Ha! It's not my fault, it's Jessica's. And Jacey's too, for encouraging my fantasy. Here's what I have to say.
We have scraps. Lots of them! After all this holiday sewing (mostly from yardage, am I right?) wouldn't it be nice to let loose with a scrappy quilt that's straight from your scraps? No, "Would she like this fabric?" and no "Is this the perfect trim?", just sew, sew and more sewing to a scrapalicous, most joyful end.
I feel a scrap attack quilt along coming on, along with some kind of Festival of Scrappiness for which to display and admire our scrappy happenings. So, let's see, in the New Year you settle on a scrappy quilt design or resurrect that unfinished scrap masterpiece waiting in the wings. I commiserate with some folks who want to help lead the Scrap Attack by teaching a few quilt styles, but you're free to make any style that floats your boat. Come January, we start making blocks or rows or what-have-you. And, at March's end we revel in a Festival of Scrappiness? What should we have for our festival? Link ups. Blog badges? Door prizes? Frolicking amongst us all. I dunno know. What do you think?
Meanwhile, here are some scrappy quilt styles to get your heart a-fluttering...

So tell me, tell me, don't you want to start a scrappy quilt like right now? (You can't of course, unless you're throwing a tantrum like Jessica, but you want too.) Would you want to jump in with one of the styles above, or do you have another design that you'd love to see included in the quilt-along tutorials?
I'm seeing scraps.
P.S. I'm not sure if "Scrap Attack" feels right. Do you like it? Any other suggestions?
