Clambake Quilt-Along: Links + Cutting
Happy Monday! This post will serve as a master page for our Clambake Quilt-along. I'll be updating it with links to all Clambake-related posts as we go. We've already covered a lot, actually!
1. Planning
5. Cutting (that's this post!)
7. Link Party
8. Finishing
Are you cutting? I am! Or, I was. Once I got started with that easy cutting die.... well, the combination of a cutting die and using up scraps was pretty irresistible. I couldn't stop! I cut and cut and cut, these colors goading me on.
The above is a capture from my Instagram account last Friday. I'm working All Colors In!
Cutting the clamshell shape generated a pile of rather unusable fabric scrap. It's a pretty pile, but I didn't keep it. Sometimes you just have to let those scraps land in the wastebasket and move on with life. The sheer volume of little 1" scrappy pieces convinced me to let it go this time.
And here I am about halfway! I'm working with color blends based on the color wheel, but I'm trying to keep the colors moving quite a lot rather than keeping things in rainbow order. I was able to cut the whole quilt from scraps, except for 2-3 fabrics I pulled from yardage. Yay!
