See you at the Sewing Summit!
Last week Erin of Quilting Bee Blocks made a very exciting announcement - there's a party next October and we've all got to go! It's The Sewing Summit, and I. AM. SO. THERE!
Check out how she described it: "We're planning lots of stuff to do with sewing: classes on machine quilting, bag making, garment construction, improv piecing; make and take projects, question and answer panels with some of the best sewists in our industry ... but we're also having an online side to it: using social media, participating in online quilting bees and swaps, blogging."
Oh my gosh, I don't think it could get better than that! I heard about this late one night and couldn't go to bed for all the excitement. I've already started scheming to save my money for the flight to Salt Lake City, Utah. The Sewing Summit is October 7-9th, 2011, and the organizers are making a point to keep the hotel and registration fees affordable. Thank goodness! So, tell me - are you going? Anyone else planning to fly out of Charlotte, NC? Let me know!
I can tell you from my experience at Skirting Couture that a major part of the fun will be connecting friendly faces with my favorite blogs. Because, seriously, you all are so fun! And, so nice. Really, really nice. And, I want to meet you in person!
Speaking of niceness, do you want to see something pretty that my friend Michelle from I Like Orange, Too sent me, just cause?
Obviously, it's beeeeautiful! My embroidery is nowhere near that good. You'll have to give me some tips, Michelle! But, can you guess what it is? It's a needle holder! (She made herself an Orla Kiely-inpsired one too.) So, my embroidery needles get to upgrade from their shack of a piece of paper to this roomy work of art. See the back:
Ya! She sent some other goodies too. Aria is totally getting some of the hearts. How could I say no?
I'm thinking I have a year - I could totally whip up some special treats to give to my bloggy friends at The Sewing Summit. So, seriously, I want to know if you're going. This is going to be amazing!
