for Good.

Thank-you, thank-you, thank-you for your very kind Birthday wishes!  This weekend was packed (mostly) with good stuff, so we'll call it a success.  I did have my very first ice cream birthday cake, something I'd always wanted to try, ice cream being my favorite food and all.  I guess at almost-30, it was time.

Best birthday present?  An agent.  On Thursday and Friday of last week I started working with an agent who will represent my book proposal to appropriate publishers.  It has taken a good bit of time to find the right agent, a lot of research and a lot of waiting.  Now it seems the wait is over and I'm to be back at work, first brushing up the proposal just a tad and then I'll finally find out what publishers think.  Oy!

Meanwhile, some sewing for good.

Swoon for do. Good Stitches - faith circle

Finished up this, my first Swoon block for the Faith circle of do. Good Stitches.  It's my turn to plan our September quilt, which is being made for a very special family undergoing enormous challenges with the health of several children. Swoon by Camille of Thimble Blossoms will suit the family perfectly.

Plus, I needed an excuse to make this block.  Obviously.

Swoon in Loulouthi & Metro Living

Fabrics are Loulouthi Curated Bloom in Fun Blue by Anna Maria Horner and Metro Living Tiles in Garnet from Robert Kaufman.  Background in Kona Snow.

bubble top!

And here's my Love in Bubbles quilt top, made in collaboration with the Love circle of do. Good Stitches.  Sashed in Kona Aqua, which I LOVE.  I'm still kind of kicking myself that I've only just discovered this shade of Kona.  It should have been obvious, as it's named "aqua" and everyone loves aqua these days.

Eyes of the World, backing

I have the perfect quilt-back-to-be, just need to get it washed before basting.  This is Eyes of the World by Harmony Art, a long-time designer and manufacturer of very high quality organic fabrics.   Miss Harmony donated this yardage and several others to do. Good Stitches to support our charity efforts. More on that soon!

and other mischief

And here are the kittens making mischief on the other side of the room. Hey, I should be glad they weren't walking all over the quilt during my pictures, right?  I think Spot was making big plans though for next time...  And, Susan, well I'm just glad she's destroying my basket instead of the curtains.  They're cute little buggers, and sooooo playful.  Love them!

Y'all have a wonderful Monday!
