Lately.
I seriously feel soooo behind, so, so behind in sharing stuff with you. So, to get a bit off my chest, here's a smattering of photos from this week....
I've begun a new baby quilt in these fabrics from Laurie Wisbrun's Modern Whimsy collection, plus a few of my own fabrics from my stash. (Modern Whimsy is at Sew Modern, Fabric Envy and Pink Castle Fabrics).
Do you think these camellias bloomed specifically to express their approval? They do look like they could have inspired that Garden Party print by Anna Maria Horner.
Part way through I ran out of Kona Pomegranate, a bright rich pink that brings a vibrancy to Laurie's sweet palette. Fortunately, Fresh Modern Fabric delivered more yardage in just a few days, so my quilt is ready for a backing! (And, look, Pomegranate brought some friends. Isn't it funny how that happens?) Thanks for being so quick, Alice. But you had to go and add that fabulous Retro Kitchen print after I ordered, didn't you? Sigh... Well, if you're taking my curves class, you just might want a 1/2 yard of a kitchen-inspired print if you're hankering for a new kitchen rug. I'm just sayin...
Let's see, I also finished a 2nd Retro Flower block for the Love circle of do. Good Stitches. Ara Jane approved this ever-so-bright yellow print for her "bright" and "warm" rendition. Perfect!
And while I have yet another quilt to finish and those flying geese, I did while away one afternoon dreaming in triangle scraps. This quilt absolutely MUST come to be because we are scrap attacking and those triangle trimmings (from a spiderweb quilt) have been languishing in scrap purgatory for ages. But... I must finish Liam's flying geese curtains first. I must! I'm off to buy lining fabric and curtain rings today. It shall be soon! And, honestly, I'm feeling kind of "ho hum" about them, so don't get your hopes up about that reveal, K?
Here's to a delightfully productive weekend!
