Spot says...
Is it just me or does Spot look pretty insistent today? I'm thinking he has something rather important to say by the way he stairs at me from across the way. Still typing, still typing.
And, yes, he knows just where to perch. If I get up, he's certain I'll have to press something.
So wise.
Even if he has to wait in a woefully small excuse of a basket, he won't be deterred. It's just that important.
Well, I'll have you know that we don't go about ignorning our pets. Nosiree. If Spot has something to say, I'll listen. But, you know, I already know the whole of it. I think he heard me mumbling it the last few nights...
It's time to submit quilts to Quilt Con! Submissions are due November 30th. Don't be a slacker, Rachel, get them in today. No more procrastination!
Sooo, little does Spot know, but while I'll appear to keep right on typing, I'll actually be heeding his stare. Muahahaha and tee hee. Yes, I'm going to click on over to the Quilt Con entry form to submit...
Oodalolly into the Improvisation category. This being one of my favorite quilts I've ever made, I'd love to bring it with me to Quilt Con next February. In fact, I'd love to just see it more. Maybe I should make a wall version for our naked dining room wall? Uh-oh, that's another project for The List.
But now I'm wondering if it belongs in the Improvisation category ("Quilt is pieced improvisationally without the use of a pattern or templates", even though I made this into a pattern requiring improvisation) or in the Piecing category ("Quilts that are machine pieced" since it's machine pieced curves - though this might be a big, hairy category). What do you think?
And, I'll also submit my Modern Medallion into the Handwork category. You know, because it has some handwork. So, that fits.
Actually (I'm so sneaky), plans to enter this one into the Quilt Con quilt show wheedled their way in during the making. A girl can use all the motivation she can get on something like this.
Naturally, I'm a little hesitant to invest the $60 in submission fees (updated: it's actually $30 for 3 quilts, score!). It's always nerve-wracking to put yourself out there. But, well, it's now or never. And Spot says now.
I'm going, I'm going!
Psst... If you're working on finishing a do. Good Stitches quilt, I know that Spot would have the same message of urgency for you. Celebrate Good Stitches is coming up fast. Circles will choose their personal best of 2012 quilts from among finished quilts on December 1st. Don't be late and Good Luck!
