a Giveaway in Black & White

You know what I like?  A good black and white fabric.  They're so versatile.  In patchwork, they provide a visual rest, a space between the colors, while still adding more interest than solids.  They're classic for home decor and snazzy as a binding (a la Rita of Red Pepper).  A good black and white fabric is usually a smart stash.

quilted Hourglass pillow

For my Hourglass pillow, I used a black and white stripe for the background.  It felt bold, layered... almost chaotic?  But cool and very, very now.  At any rate, it's much more "me" than using a lot of solid white.

curated bundle at Mad About Patchwork

Pam at Mad About Patchwork offered to let me curate a bundle for giveaway.  I put together 8 black/white prints that I'd love to add to my stash:  Bold & Beautiful Stripe Black, Essex White, Remix Zig Zag Black, Architextures Landscape Grey, Sketch Black/White, Chicopee Voltage Dot Black, Architextures Scribble Notes Black, Architextures Measurements Grey.  What do you think?

My bundle is available now as a fat quarter or half yard set.   She has limited quantities, so don't lollygag if you need a black/white pick-me-up.  Oh, and you can even save 10% off the bundle (and your entire order) through March 21 with coupon STITCH10.

She has Flea Market Fancy and Lotta's Bella for 25% off.  Plus, Mad About Patchwork stocks Shelburne Falls.  Just sayin.  Everything ships from Canada!

Comment here to enter to win this Black & White bundle courtesy of Mad About Patchwork!  Anyone can enter, just include your email address if it's not "shown" to Bloggers.  You don't have to say, but I'd be curious to know if you have a go-to black/white or gray/white print?  Lately, I've used a lot of creamy cursive prints and loose grids like that Sketch above.  What do you find handy?

Winner to be announced this Friday afternoon!

Our winner is comment #254, who is Stephanie of Providence Handmade.  She sad, "I've been loving black/white Kei dots lately - they are such a great scale! I have gray/white dots on the way that I'm excited about, too!"  The Kei dots are a classic for sure (not that I've ever bought them, but I've wanted to... often).  I'll be in touch, Stephanie!
