Strings & Things
Edited to add: Follow my blog with Bloglovin to "claim" my blog at Bloglovin.
Anyone else feeling a bit buried in strings? Before leaving for the weekend I dumped out my bin of blue and green strings and asked myself, "Self, how big of a quilt could you make with just these?" Self said, "dunno, but I want to know" So, apparently, a string thing or two are in order.
In fact, when I sat down to sketch designs, two must-do ideas emerged. This made me wonder, ponder in fact, if you might also have string-thing-itis. Perhaps you would like to string along? I'm thinking a string tutorial (involving herringbones and legal paper - a dynamic duo) and if there is enough excitement, a Scrap Attack festival as well? Like last year, but with strings?
Also, how many times can you use "string" in one paragraph? We shall see.
::Other things in this stringy-good post::
1. Yesterday was our 12th wedding anniversary! Hubby and I got away and hiked at Ceasar's Head, SC. Twas a thrilling view.
Also, many small things I did notice. Especially green mosses and round, plummy plants.
And drip, drip, drips at this small falls.
2. Also this weekend.... a homeschool convention! My first. I bought books, resisted buying many others and made plans to buy scads more. It's delightful.
3. Aria finished her quilt from last week. Apparently, she "had" to finish this before starting a new knitting project that's captured her heart. Ahhh... just like mom! Loving the closure.
But, wait! Mom hasn't finished many quilts lately! In fact, I'm kind of in quilt limbo because I'm hoping to receive a new Juki soon. Pfaff replaced my naughty Smarter machine with a new Smarter machine, which I think I will try to sell, so I am not using it. Meanwhile, I am making final decisions on a replacement machine. All will be revealed in time!
4. I've started using BlogLovin since Google Reader has abandoned us all. This little button could be handy....
Don't forget to chime in on the String Thing. Have them? Need to use them? Want to string along? Maybe a Festival of Strings come May....
