a tisket, a tasket
Hey, I made a basket. Lots of little crumb pieces, some just 1" square sorted out into columns and sewn up like a coin quilt...
Yep, remember this crumb patchwork?
Well, it's been signed, sealed and delivered in the form of two mini baskets for Handstitched campers!
This is not my first time using Ayumi's great tutorial. Every time I whip one up, I think that I really could use one by my machine for thread waste. It'll happen, someday.
Both were lined with Glimma Kita in mineral. The mineral/dust color definitely reminds me of linen. It's such a versatile neutral. But, I actually meant to order the Kita in fog, which is a pale gray. Might need to try that again....
Figured if I used up what I bought I wouldn't feel silly ordering the other!
Today I plan to hit the scraps again, this time making something for a camper that's been waiting patiently for ages (I'm talking about you, Anne!). I keep starting on her project and then it turns into something else. Fingers crossed it works out this time!
