Washed Earth Winners!
It's a brand new week! Lots of possibilities to make and to enjoy. I think it's going to be a very good one! Let's start by congratulating the two winners of
our Washed Earth mosaic contest...
First we have this neutral-rich mosaic by Daisy of Ants to Sugar! She said, "The mix of pinks and browns makes me think of agates worn smooth on the beach. Or the glow on mountain rocks of the desert as the sun sets. Or the late season salmon runs as they press upstream, rushing to lay their eggs before fall." So very earthy; so very pretty!
{Fabrics} Line 1: Pearl Bracelet Cotton Candy; Collage Scratch Putty; Anna Maria Horner Sketchbook in Pink Line 2: Bungalow Empress Coral; Andover Chambray Gray; Stitch Circle Stone Line 3: Baby Jane Hop Skip Gray; Liberty of London Susanna; Cotton Couture Stone Line 4: Half Moon Modern Stone; Bungalow Hive Pink; Moda Grunge Fandango
Our second winner is Laura of Waffle Kisses, whose mosaic has a fun, offbeat personality. I especially like the way the Koi fabric (top right) adds unexpected colors that absolutely mix. Both mosaics feature Anna Maria Horner's Sketchook fabric (with the bird!), which was actually popular across the board for this contest!
{Fabrics} Line 1: Chicopee Heatwave Stripe Fuschia; Lush Uptown Wood Grain Moss; Koi Scalloped Edge Ivory Line 2: Glimma Marby Flannel Gray; Sunprint Feathers Chartreuse; Anna Maria Horner Sketchbook in Pink Line 3: Indochine A-chan Diamond Yellow; Bungalow Hive Pink; RK Quilter's Linen Stone Line 4: Technicolor Triplet Kryptonite; Bungalow Doily Grassland; Rossi Facets Palace Stone
Congratulations to our winners who will receive their bundles in fresh, delicious cotton real soon! A great big thanks to Pink Chalk Fabrics for sponsoring our fun.
Thanks to all of you for participating with your mosaics and your votes. Have a happy Monday!
***Update*** I forgot earlier about our random winners! Pink Chalk generously donated 2 random bundles (the other half of our fat quarter sets). Mr. Random chose entry #15 (On the Windy Side) and entry 102 (My Sewcial Hour). Yes, those were finalists too. I have no idea how Mr. Random managed to pick them from all the entries, but I didn't feel it was fair to argue! Enjoy, ladies!!!
