oops!
So, I thought I was going easy on my husband by painting the kitchen peach, not pink. You know, because peach is closer to brown and less overtly girly (maybe?). Oh, I can be so convincing. It's like flesh-colored, kind of. And, don't worry... it won't be A Lot of peach. Half of our kitchen is white brick and then there's all the cabinets and appliances. How much wall is there, really?
One thing was for sure, it needed to be lightened. Here are some "before" pictures taken here and there over the last few years.
This dark, chocolate brown cave... yeah, that was my kitchen. I actually enjoyed it this way for many years. The dark color made the white cabinets and vivid yellow curtains pop. But, I was ready for a change. I wanted something that would feel sunny and maybe put a little spring in my step.
So, what does "spring linen" Olympic paint look like on my walls?
Pink.
Well, I feel a little bit bad for Brandon, but I LOVE it. What's not to love? It's so cheery and clean and fresh feeling. Turns out when you paint the walls a light color they don't recede so much and there is plenty of wall to be pink-ified. I'm going to make new black and white curtains in a effort to offset the pinkness. (Together the yellow and pink read very girly, right?) Maybe a more neutral hand towel too? But, honestly, he'll probably not notice the difference.
Still I'm definitely going to keep calling it "peach," just in case that helps!
