home at last

Good news - Eleni came home on Sunday!

(Don't worry, carseat problems were addressed!)

Has it really been just three days?  I feel a world keeps passing with each day, my sense of time is so far gone.   I miss being in this space regularly, and I miss our old, settled routines, but I'm also loving and finally feel I'm living this new reality - I have a baby!

I have a baby -a real, beautiful baby.  She's home and she's mine.  So happy.

a Marissa Dress

Well, Easter is coming fast, isn't it?  Today I started sewing Aria's dress, once again using the Marissa Dress pattern by Sis Boom.  I'm using size 9/10 and cut the skirt pieces 23" x 40". (Those measurements mainly for my reference next year.  I seem to make this dress every single year!)

The Leah Duncan Morning Walk fabrics are so delicately beautiful, pretty without being cutesy.  I would absolutely wear a dress in this fabric myself!  And I actually have enough leftover to make a little dress or romper for Eleni, later this summer.

grandma + Eleni

Today's Marissa dress sewing brought to you by the loving hands of grandma.  We are so incredibly fortunate to live in the same area as both maternal and paternal grandparents.  They have bonded so closely with this little baby from regular hospital visits and will continue to be a part of her life on a weekly basis.  What a special gift that is - to mama and baby both!
