Love in Vintage Rainbows
My latest collaboration quilt with Love circle of do. Good Stitches is complete! Our palette was inspired by our Vintage Rainbow mosaic contes. How do you think it came out? I think the team did a spot on job of emulating the slightly-off vintage greens and pinks combined with true blues and raspberry reds.
This half square triangle setting has become a pattern called "Framed" which is to be part of my upcoming online class. It's a great choice for scraps, as shown by the way it's come together here with diverse fabrics and a somewhat open-ended color scheme. I've been working for a few months on Patchwork from Scrap which will run twice this summer (July and September). More details soon!
I finished the quilt with zigzag quilting along diagonals that emphasize the frames (on point squares) in this quilt pattern, plus additional straight line quilting in the ditch of other seams for durability. Our Love circle quilts are destined for children through Wrap Them in Love. Got to stitch them to last!
As per usual, I pieced together some large stash yardage to make up my quilt back.
These three fabrics are all Anna Maria Horner prints, actually, from three different collections. I'm often drawn to her work. Someone was just asking me for Loulouthi, and I pointed them to Mod Corsage, especially Memory and Observations. I'd like to get some myself!
Thanks, Love Circle, for teaming up to create quilts for good. It has been truly a pleasure to lead this circle for coming on 6 years! Our membership has evolved throughout that time, but always the outcome is so worthwhile. I imagine myself stitching with you for years to come!
