Jodi's Kingfisher quilt in process

Jodi's Kingfisher quilt in process

If you're stitching along with us on a Kingfisher quilt, I hope you're enjoying the process!  Jodi wrote a gem of a post for us at Tales of Cloth this week.  Don't miss "Keeping Momentum for Hand Stitched Projects", which touches on how Jodi fell in love with English Paper Piecing and how she integrates it so fully within her life.

She talks about all sorts of ways to keep yourself engaged and motivated.  This quote from her section on experimenting really speaks to me.

Quilting traditions are wonderful, but it’s also good to remember that they too were once new methods, developed with what worked best at the time, with tools they had on hand. Don’t trade the tradition of joy and beauty and warmth for traditional methods.

Did you know that Cottoneer is providing a smorgasbord of delightful prizes for our quilt along?  Jodi has outlined them all at the master prize post.  Congratulations to @CreativeChristine_ whose Instagram photo was randomly chosen as the winner of last week's Little Red fabric bundle

This week one very lucky Kingfisher stitcher will win a choice of border fabrics!  The winner gets to choose three fabrics from Cottoneer's beautiful quilting cottons valued at $12 a yard or less.  Cuts for border are:  1/4 yard, 1 2/3 yard and 1 2/3 yard, just as listed on the supplies list.

As it happens, fabric shopping is one way I keep up my momentum!  Having all the supplies I need on hand helps me stay focused and excited.  I have all my border fabrics ready to go.  If you haven't ordered yours yet, it's time!

Let's end with a collage of your Kingfisher works-in-progress.

So fantastic! If you can't get enough, see them all over on Instagram.  Keep enjoying our summer stitch-along!
