a very Merry un-Birthday
Wow, I had such a lovely weekend! It began Saturday morning, working side by side with sweet Miss Rora.
Rora loves small objects and especially enjoys exploring my colorful pin cushion. Mama emphasizes they are "Sharp!", so that's what she calls pins. When she pulled up a stool to sit beside me, I realized she could actually help me. As I zigzag stitched the binding, I placed the pins one by one on the table. She carefully picked each one up and stuck it in the pin cushion. It was a special moment for us both.
She's at that stage where helping mama fills her with joy and confidence. So adorable! This is her, "Check me out, Daddy!" face.
Brandon caught me sewing on my Janome HD3000. I sew all my zigzag bindings and special seam finishes on this machine since my Juki only does straight stitch. The Janome has been humming along nicely for several years now. It's a great durable, mid-range sewing machine, if you're on the search.
This weekend I also got to celebrate my 36th birthday with friends on Saturday and on Sunday. Yes, both days - I'm so lucky! This was a great birthday. Sunday involved a day trip to Charleston, which brought the opportunity for conversation over hand stitching. Sigh... It doesn't get much better than that.
Hmm... now maybe I"ll find that leftover piece of chocolate cake. The party continues!
A Very Merry un-Birthday to all!
