welcome, Purple Stitches + Giveaway!

I’m so excited to introduce a new sponsor located on this side of the Atlantic! I came across Purple Stitches at Festival of Quilts. This modern fabric shop is located in the United Kingdom at Basingstoke. They have a physical shop and a fabulous online shop too.

At Festival of Quilts I wasn’t planning on purchasing any fabric, but Vivian’s booth was completely irresistible. We share a nearly identical taste in fabrics, so everything was catching my eye and begging to be explored. And then when I introduced myself to Viv she knew me and had actually taken one of my classes! It looks like my free Colorbrick quilt pattern was made up in a sample for her store postcards. Clearly, a partnership was meant to be!

I’m sure you’d like Purple Stitches too. You’ll browse a large selection of quilting cottons from familiar manufacturers, as well as finds more unusual in the United States. For example, Dashwood Studio, a UK-based textile company, has a fantastic sense of style and color. Here’s a new collection called Emi & the Bird for Dashwood Studio:

I’m also drawn to her Liberty fabrics and the collection of lower-priced, but similar options by Lecien and Sevenberry. If you like small-scale, colorful florals, Purple-Stitches has a lot to offer!

I’m thinking I may need to plan a special project for this upcoming collection from Windham called Fantasy by Sally Kelly. It’s not shipping until the end of the year, but they’re offering it for presale at 10% off. Isn’t that lovely? I would be quite happy to find a bundle wrapped under my Christmas tree.

And speaking of the holidays, Purple-Stitches is gearing up with workshops and special fabrics designed to help you deck the halls.

Just Announced - Sewcial Retreats in June and September 2020 are open for registration. These fill up fast! Don’t delay if you’d like to join in for a fun, relaxing weekend of sewing in the Swindon, United Kingdom.

I always like to see basics like Kona Cotton Solids and 108” widleback fabrics offered too. These are the things I need, which go nicely with the things I want. Purple Stitches has those covered and Haberdashery too (isn’t that the best English word?). It’s everything for the quilter who likes sewing with fresh, modern fabrics, plus patterns and fabrics for dressmaking too.
