oh, Fridays!
Our Fridays are a bit topsy-turvy, with school taken in bits and sandwiched around a long swimming playdate and lunch and such. If I can get myself in the right mood, I actually enjoy the recklessness of Fridays. It's nice at the end of the week to let go!
So here's what else I'm letting go of - reupholstering that chair. Somehow your chorus of "do the chair!" helped me know for sure that I don't want to do. Sorry to be so contrary! But the negatives all became clear -
*I don't love the shape of the chair to begin with
*It really would be a huge project and not a great one for a first reupholstery
*I'd definitely need to use home decor or even real upholstery fabric
*It would be costly in fabric (7-8 yards)
*I'd need to make a new cushion
*Plus, a bench would be better than a chair in our entry, with baskets underneath for shoes!
I was telling myself, it's now or never... and then realized "never" was exactly fabulous, haha! I haven't told Brandon yet about the bench idea, but when the time is right (or if we go to Ikea) I'll plant the seed. Then I could make a cute drop-in cushion for the bench which would be easy-peasy and not a big deal to redo if I make a poor fabric choice. I'm sold! Thanks for helping me work that out.
So it looks like dresses and tobacco leaves are in my future. This weekend I'm hoping to spend some time with my Rainbow Tilt-a-whirl quilt so that when that Briar Rose arrives I can pounce!
Happy weekend!
