Hey, I made a Calendar!
I wasn't planning to, but it all kind of happened. Let's see.
First off I went searching a week ago for a 2013 calendar. I wanted something crafty and inspirational, so off I went to look for the annual Whip-Up calendar. Only, I couldn't find it and I confirmed with Kathreen that she's not doing one for 2013. Bummer. I also considered Christina's cute wallet-sized calendar. But, really, I wanted something to hang on the wall with pretty new eye candy each month. So, eventually, I realized that I have a lot of lovely sewing images that I'd enjoy seeing more often....
It's a slippery slope, these projects. Here are my calendar pin-ups via a Flickr slideshow. You can speed up, pause or replay it:

Thought you might want one too. And what kind of friend would I be if I didn't share? So I'm having my calendar produced by the good folks at Redbubble, the same company Whip-Up has used in years past. Redbubble prints on demand and ships internationally at affordable rates. After some research, I was agreeing with Kathreen that Redbubble has the high quality and modern style that we'll all enjoy. It's printed on high quality satin art paper with a hanger and white wire binding (size 12×16.5 inches / 30x42cm). Here are some photos from Redbubble:
I particularly like the way the spiral falls at the top of each open month, rather than falling in between the photo and the calendar dates. Different and good.
So, I wanted to wait to share this until I had the calendars here in person to photograph, but - alas - that will be 1-2 weeks from today! Just in case you don't want to wait (and since you have to order by December 14th to receive by Christmas in the states), I gave in and spilled the beans today.

I'm sure I also won't be able to resist sharing the printed versions when I get my mits on them. You can always just plug your ears and sing "lalalalalala" when I do, if this calendar stuff is nonsense to you.
Oh, also, I couldn't decide! I was trying to get my order placed by a deadline and I couldn't decide on the best photo for the cover page. So, naturally, I made two versions.
What do you think? "A Colorful Thread" with the bowl of pearl or "a year with patchwork" with those sunny squares? Otherwise, the calendars are completely identical. I ordered both versions! One to get and one to gift. Choosing a "best" photo is so subjective. My husband, who is a professional photographer (and did the image processing on these calendar images), kept liking the photos that were less about patchwork and more "artsy".
Even if you're not choosing for yourself, I'm curious as to which cover strikes your fancy?
