a little bit of Magic

What a week!  So much to see, to do, to eat, to plan (especially to plan.... seriously, if I can't sew and I'm barraged by inspiring imagery, is anyone surprised that I'm dreaming in quilt?).

This week we've visited all four parks at Disney World. Today my inlaws took the kiddos back for one last day at the parks, and Brandon and I have opted to stay "home" and slow down.  Because, Disney is exhausting!  Yes, fun, interesting, exciting, memorable, but exhausting is the operative word.

If I were to give you a word of advice, I'd say 3 days at the park are plenty.  And, I'd alternate days at the park with days resting, drawing, playing games and just being together without all the lines and crowds and noise.  Haha, I sound a bit grinchy, don't I?  Well, in my normal life I spend days at a time at home with the children not having to go anywhere.  And I love it!

My kids don't "know" most characters, as they are TV-free and we avoid highly marketed characters in general.  They loved the rides (the scarier the better!) and some of the more creative experiences.  Disney is definitely a classic childhood experience, so I am thankful they've had a chance to enjoy it all. One thing I've found inspiring during this week is reflecting on how the creative genius and hard-working spirit of Walt Disney left such an amazing heritage.  It goes to show that creativity has been and will always be a great force in our world.

Tomorrow is another long car ride back home and then... and then.. back to the routine.  See you then!
