Scattered
Lately I've been juggling half-spent projects. My workspace is a storm of scrap piles, pulled for bumper blocks and tossed by kitty Susan, who has developed a habit of carrying piles of fabric around the house at night, and whenever we're not home. Really. I don't know what to do for her!
A few weeks ago I started a quilt for Aria. I'm making she and Liam matching sawtooth star quilts for their bunkbed. It's nice to be working on something for them in the midst of all this baby sewing!
Aria's quilt will have a Kona Ruby background, while Liam's will be Kona Storm. Somehow they both intensely want a red, white and blue room. Not sure how that happened?
These stars are in fabrics pulled from my stash. I love how the sawtooth star blocks presents each print pretty as a picture! Tutorial here.
The baby's room has the best light on this moist, cloudy day.
I cut and cut and cut her fabrics until I ran out of Kona Ruby. Now we're waiting for that shipment....
And I would show you something else today, but my bumper blocks are stalled out waiting fabrics too and my baby gown project is in process, but not quite ready for a reveal. Then there's the camper gifts I've almost completed and the Angled charity quilt I have all the blocks to start. Last week I made a list of Christmas gifts to sew. Where to start? Can you see me going in circles?
So I just keep picking up Susan's fabrics and hoping a fluffy package will arrive in the mail to solve all my problems.
This is not how I work best! One or two projects at a time, worked all the way through until glorious completion. That's how I like it. Sometimes the world does not cooperate.
