the Apple skirt

Once upon a time I sewed my sweet Rora a skirt full of sunshine. I followed this free online tutorial, which is based on measurements for a perfect fit every time.

Awwww! Nowadays we call her by her proper name, but she’s just as sweet and full of sunshine. And since Elora has been enjoying wearing skirts lately, I presented her with a choice of fabrics the other day for a new spring skirt.

Wouldn’t you know, she chose the apples? Actually she’s had her eye on that fabric since I brought it home last year. It is by Heather Ross from her Forestburgh collection. The two showier prints are from Anna Maria Horner’s Our Fair Home. And the blue fabric all the way left is a leftover rayon, used to make pajama pants for Aria years ago.
