Economy Star Parade: Sew Outer Border Blocks

It’s time for the last installment of this sew-along.
Week 4: Sew Outer Border blocks
This week the goal is to sew just 16 economy blocks for our 72” square throw-size quilt. These standard economy blocks will fill in the gaps at the outer boundaries of the Economy Star Parade quilt.
Have fun with this last batch of simple, yet playful economy blocks. I hope you find the process of cutting center squares and choosing coordinating fabrics to be totally consuming in a fun way! I tend to enter a sort of trance and can’t stop until all the fabrics are satisfactorily grouped.
Happily I’ve received a complete set of economy blocks from all contributing members of do. Good Stitches sewing bee, Comfort circle. They’re even early this month! Cheers, ladies, for a job very well done!
Now I’m off to assemble the quilt blocks into rows and then into a finished quilt top. The longarm machine should be humming over this one real soon! It’s been a quiet season for longarm quilting, so there’s no reason why I shouldn’t have my Economy Star Parade quilt finished and ready to be donated by the end of the week!
