What a happy scrappy finish!

This squishy baby quilt is fit for a party. What a joyful way to welcome a new baby girl or boy. I only wish I had a chubby cheeked little one to photograph on my baby-sized Confetti quilt. It would be such a fun photo!

Luckily I had a scrap piece of wool batting to suit this 32” square baby quilt. As wool is loftier than cotton, this choice of batting gives it extra oomph for cuddling and keeps baby a bit more comfortable when playing on the floor. I opted for a fluffy, open quilting pattern for a soft texture.

I poked around in my stash for a yard of fabric that wanted to play along and settled on this Anna Maria Horner print. Are those teal and lavender squares also confetti? Hmm - - -

This little quilt is bound in miniature aqua gingham, with an errant piece of aqua striped fabric along one edge. It’s a detailed kind of quilt that invites you to take a closer look and then even closer. I hope it finds a home with someone who will slow down and enjoy all of its tiny treasures. Confetti baby quilt is listed now in my Handmade shop.

Enjoying the look of my scraps? My fabrics are collected over the years for love and for projects. I’ve used lots of favorites by Anna Maria Horner, Heather Ross, Denyse Schmidt and Ruby Star Society in this particular quilt. Just keep sewing with fabrics you love and your scrap collection will grow better and better over time. Happy sewing!

p.s. Thank you for joining me in our quilt along! The Confetti pattern is my most popular yet, and I would never have figured out how to write it if it wasn’t for your many requests. xoxo
