Hello again! It’s Monday and my weekend was a bit crazy, was yours? It’s so good to get back into my sewing studio and take some time for pretty things and creativity and quilts.

Today I want to show you what I made for Elora just before Easter. This time it’s not a dress, but still fun!

I used leftover yardage from making myself pajama pants last year to create a simple top for Elora. The fabric is Rifle Paper Co. lawn called Monarch. It’s still available in the pink version at Fenceline Fabrics.

There’s lots to love about sewing for little girls. One is that tops don’t require that much fabric. This took only about a half yard.

Like most of you, we didn’t do much for Easter. Still it was a bunch of fun to set up an Easter egg hunt just for Elora at a grassy spot nearby our house. This was her first hunt. Since she was diving around on her knees to snatch up the eggs, I guess it worked out that she was wearing jeans instead of a dress!

Making this top was super easy. I followed a free tutorial/pattern at It’s Always Autumn. The pattern print out is only sized for 4-year-olds, so you’d have to make some minor adjustments to get another size. Compare with one of your child’s existing tops to help with that. I didn’t make any adjustments, and it fits my 3 1/2 year old well with room to grow.
