Christmas in the City patchwork

Come see what awaits me today on my sewing table - - -

Good morning, patchwork! What a nice way to start a December day.

That pair of Fir trees on my sewing table is almost complete. Soon I’ll be able to pop them up on my design wall to fill in the pink row of trees.

I’ve already sewn all of the Spruce trees for my Christmas in the City fabrics quilt. I created three different tree sizes, each a fun way to feature these festive fabrics.

All of my empty spots are for additional paper pieced Fir trees, like these. Of course, the paper pieced trees take the longest, but they have so much character. Plus, I’m using up lots of odd-shaped scrap pieces leftover from making the Spruce trees.

Once the tress are finished, I’ll be adding a row of tiny stars and trim as special touches. I’m looking forward to seeing how it all comes together over the next few weeks.

Wishing you joy in whatever you are sewing today!
