sparkly Green Stars
A fresh start. All the tantalizing possibilities. Gosh, I love the energy of beginning a new quilt!
As you can see, I’m going green, green, green. Happily, I was able to cut most of the stars from scrap fabrics, both the small scraps you see here and my bigger scrap chunks. I also cut into yardage now and then, to broaden my range of green tones.
The creamy low volume fabrics will become a nuanced background.
Cutting out a new quilt with music playing and the sun shining = Happy quilter!
This quilt will be my 5th project using my Starbright Stars patchwork pattern. I’m always jazzed that these 6-point stars can be completely machine-sewn, and without any y-seams to boot. The pattern doesn’t even require cutting templates - just any old quilting ruler with angle lines. That kind of simple cleverness really does it for me.
Woah, how did this happen so fast? Thank you Mr. Design Wall, Spotify and the energy of green sparkly stars. I’m pretty darn excited with how this is looking. But then, I think that Starbright Stars would rock in any monochromatic color scheme! Here it is pretty in pink.
I wonder, what color stars would you choose?
Good news - my Starbright Stars pattern will release August 21st as a stand-alone pattern for the first time ever! It has until now only been available as part of my Angled course. Won’t you join us in September for a sparkly fun sew-along? Sign up to stay in the know!
