in the Quilting Studio, no. 51

Greetings from America! I am a long ways from my quilting studio, but we can take a virtual visit there together. I have some fun images to share with you of projects I finished for clients before packing my bags. Each of these fresh, modern quilts was a pleasure to get to see in person and to see transformed via quilting into something even more special. Enjoy!

Churn Dash Star by Katja

I love, love, love the churn dash block and you know I am a fan of stars; but, I had no idea that the two could be a combined! Check out this quilt made by Katja @karos_corner.

How cool! Katja used stripes so cleverly and the colors are delightful. This quilt reminds me that you never can have too many stripes in a fabric stash - - -

I love how the Stud quilting pattern adds another layer of interest, also with straight lines (like the stripes) but on diagonal (like the churn dash triangles).

Stacked SHapes by JoLene Stratton

Jolene is one of those quilters who works in a very broad range of styles. I never know what fun will be waiting me with I open one of her packages. This quilt certainly incited a squeal of joy!

So simple. So modern. But so HAPPY too!

We agreed to finish it with the Chevron quilting texture in tan thread. This one is denser in some parts and more open in others. I think it shows up really nicely on this all-solids quilt with loads of negative space. Yay!

Halloween Bear PAw by Linda Schot

Linda’s quilt is definitely my favorite Halloween quilt yet. The bear paw block is absolutely perfect for Halloween, and the colors she used are extra fun.

It is always good to be reminded that one doesn’t have to make a quilt full of a block in order to create a lovely quilt. Linda’s diagonal layout for these bear paw blocks is simply gorgeous.

Plus, it left lots of negative space for fancy quilting! Linda found this Batty Meander pattern, which looks pretty cool, don’t you think? I will be adding it to my quilting pattern catalog soon.

Such a fun quilt and such vivid, spicy colors. It was my pleasure!

I’d be happy to finish your projects with a beautiful quilting texture too. My services are available to those who live throughout the European region. Please be in touch if you have any questions or start the process off by placing your order. I can’t wait to collaborate on YOUR quilt!
