My Designs + a Prize

Hello quilty people! Are you going to be joining in on 30 Days of Quilt Design? You totally should!

If you step up to the challenge, I believe that you will find that creativity breeds creativity. Once you begin giving yourself a dedicated moment to dream quilty dreams, they just keep coming. I encourage you this weekend to sit down with a piece of paper or a design program like PreQuilt. Breath in, breath out and see what ideas spring forth!

I have already sketched and shared four designs in my 30 Days series. The first two I shared in Monday’s blog post, Dreaming in Dottie. I am curious to see what you think of my next two designs:

No Entry

My 3rd design is titled No Entry, because it began with the idea of an X shape. In this case the X symbolizes “stop” or “no”. I sketched this design to express my choice not to let someone manipulative back into my life. I wanted to feel my choice through my whole self, and making this design did just that.

Then yesterday I sketched and colored this much happier concept. Once again, it reflects my state of mind, which is peaceful and true to myself.

Clear Hearted

I’ve sewn this simple heart shape before. It’s just a square and a rectangle, but when set diagonal it looks enough like a heart to me. What about you? I think I would enjoy sewing a swarm of the hearts, hence my experimenting yesterday.
