This one is not a favorite. Maybe it would be better with thin sashing so that the linking elements don’t quite touch? Ah well, every design doesn’t have to be worth sewing. The collection of designs is sure to have some winners, so the thing is to keep those creative moments flowing,

Honeycomb Stars in mood berry palette

day no. 11 in #30DaysofQuiltdesign

I will be sewing a wall quilt to hang over my bed. This is the color scheme for my new room: burgundy, wine, plum, blues and mauve with a touch of red. I wonder if this quilt design could be the one? It is hard to commit to a design when I know in advance that I want to hang it!

I wasn’t too keen to continue my creative practice on this vacation, but once I got started I did enjoy sketching this design. My starting point was to experiment further with the fan block from Positivities quilt. This design is not anything that I will likely develop further, but some of the shapes surprised me in a good way. Now back to ☀️🌊⛱️

Crossweave

Okay, I love this one! I found the design by accident when I was editing my Honeycomb Stars design the other day. When I added a single column in @prequilt to my quilt layout, this warped pattern appeared. I would construct it with diamonds and half hexagon shapes. This is a must sew!
